Melissa Francis and Jennifer Landells are Master Instructors for Balanced Body, Inc. They have more than 40 years of combined experience in the Pilates industry as studio owners, Master Instructors and trainers for a wide variety of clients at all levels. They have the honor of teaching Pilates repertoire to new instructors using Balanced Body’s incredible curriculum and materials. Both Melissa and Jen mentor new instructors in all areas of the Pilates industry as they grow and build their own clientele and businesses. They provide real client experience so you can transition into the real world with working Pilates experience and knowledge. Both Jen and Melissa do Virtual Livestream and In-Person Instructor Training.

Balanced Body Course Descriptions
Movement Principles: Learn how to recognize, improve and teach fundamental movement patterns with Movement Principles, the foundation of the Balanced Body Instructor Training system. This course is a required prerequisite before all other courses.
Anatomy in 3D: Build the body from the inside out! Anatomy in Three Dimensions ™ (AI3D) is an effective, engaging and fun way to learn anatomy by building the muscles in clay on a specialized to-scale skeleton. This isn’t limited to instructors either! Anyone can benefit from this course!
Mat 1: Mat 1 is the foundation of the entire Pilates method and includes the history and principles of the Pilates method and the beginning and intermediate level exercises.
Mat 2: Mat 2 teaches the remaining intermediate and advanced level Mat exercises for a complete understanding of the Pilates Mat program with modifications and challenges to work individual clients at their individual level.
Mat 3 - Enhanced Mat with Props: Enhanced Pilates Mat completes the mat training by adding rings, rollers, bands and balls to the traditional Mat exercises. This is where instructors can get creative and have tons of fun with programming.
Reformer 1: This course introduces the Universal Reformer, the centerpiece of the Pilates equipment studio and an invaluable training tool. This course is a must for instructors wanting to expand their earning potential.
Reformer 2: Reformer 2 amplifies the capabilities of the Reformer with intermediate and advanced exercises and modifications. This module includes programming for a variety of topics.
Reformer 3: Reformer 3 is the pinnacle of the Reformer work and includes advanced and super-advanced exercises to challenge clients to achieve their best.
Barrels: Includes exercises and variations for the Step Barrel and Ladder Barrel, both excellent tools for enhancing spinal mobility and core strength.
Chair: The chair is great for doing strengthening work with athletic clients and as an addition to group programming for extra challenge. This equipment looks simple, but the exercises are demanding!
Cadillac/Trapeze Table/Tower: Provides a thorough knowledge of the Trapeze Table and Tower exercises, as well as applications for beginning, post–rehabilitation and advanced clients.
